I wouldn't count on the present government doing anything about these laws. -

"Why are we supposed to be happy when people are killed?" From a 10 year old
by stuckinarut2 ini was really overjoyed to hear a 10 year old in the hall say this the other day.
she was sitting behind us and whispered to her mum during the meeting:.
"so mummy, why are we supposed to be happy when jehovah kills people, including my friends at school?

Even children can see through the BS.
When I think back growing up as a dub this was so evil to have poisoned a child's mind to look at the class mates differently as if they are evil and condemned to die at Armageddon. It took me years to look at "worldly" people like the same as myself.

Wow - Scientology is so similar to Jehovah's Witnesses
by Illuminated ini recently watched this excellent interview with ex members of scientology.
i was blown with how much former members sound like ex jehovah's witnesses.
both organizations are so similar.. here's a link to the interview:.

Scientology is similar to the JW's because they are both cults.
Funny you should mention about how the WT won't attack Scientology. I recall one time when I was telling my brother about a documentary about Scientology and he defended Scientology. He said it is like ex dubs talking against the WT. Who are you going to believe a disgruntled ex dub or the WT? He said the same as Scientology, that can you believe ex disgruntled members of what they have to say about Scientology? I was wondering if he got that from WT literature. The thing is the WT Tare so quick to jump on say ex Catholics who speak out against the Catholic church.

Counting service time in a creative way
by nevaagain incouting time and, how to count time while doing as little service as possible is often a hot topic around witnesses.
i even overheard pioneers discussing about it.
they call it "creative time counting" (i translated that phrase from a different language so bear with me ;-).

As a good dub I would never think of count time I didn't put in. I would try to drag out the time like what was mentioned by other posters. I know some ex dubs that would admit that they fudged their hours just to get the service overseer off their back. -

Family MOURNS because baby LIVES? WTF!!!!
by Glitchy ini was researching all things un related to jws when i came across this website: "jehovah's trumpet" http://jehovahstrumpet.com/.
i read an article about a jw who found out the watchtower had joined the un.
she left the org and now her daughter is shunning her while boasting about it!

"Satire" is a genre of literature, and sometimes graphic and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, government or society itself, into improvement. -

The other morning I seen a couple of dubs with the new rack they have for magazines way out in the middle of no where. I guess they were hoping no one would see them. -

I seen this 30 years ago when I last went out in the service. I always wondered how much of that time reported was actually spend in talking to others. I know even my mother would be disgusted with the ones that would spend half the time in the coffee shop and not out banging on doors. -

t's a social club disguised as a religion!
If most active JW's left, they would have NO ONE.
Quote from Robin Williams..."I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone, it's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone."
I have always said that if it wasn't for the threat of DF,ing most dubs would stop going. When I went to the meetings you could see the glazed looks in a lot of the dubs there, like their brains were shut off during the talks. Then after it was like it is time to arrange for the social events after.
I found out over twenty years ago how these so called friend made you feel all alone when I dared to start to think for myself. It is all based on conditional love. Outside of that the only dubs I knew that did not practice that was my parents and my sister.

I could see my 30+ dub niece liking this video but I know my dub mother would be appalled with it if she was still alive but then if the GB approved it, it would be OK. -

Woke up this morning to the realization that the future is now
by campaign of hate inas the title of the thread says, i woke up this morning realizing more than ever that we should, each and every one of us, live for today and what we can accomplish today, rather than constantly looking toward the future.. i'm not implying we shouldn't make plans, plans are healthy and advisable, especially if you have healthy commitments.. but i realized the reason why nothing in my life ever seems to get done, is because i put things off, and look ahead 10 years down the line, then a few days later realize how much work needs to be put into that said task, then i don't do anything.
and so the cycle seems to repeat itself.. what i think i'm trying to say is that worthwhile endeavors that have a reward at the end, but take many years to get there, need to be challenged one day at a time.
i now understand that to get to where we want to be 10 years down the line, we need to focus on today and the hard work that needs to be out into a task one day at a time.

The last 40 year were not supposed to happen in this system. I was told that from a young child that I would not even graduate HS in this system. Forty years on and I am now retired. I enjoy each day as it comes and I do not worry about tomorrow. A religion is fine if one chooses to believe the fairy tales and as long as it doesn't rule every aspect of your life, like the WT does.
